If recent sales of motorbikes are anything to go by the number of bikers is growing - we should welcome these buggers with open arms - unfortunately there are purist individuals who try to belittle the newbies but won't go into that just now.

Point is, with the right promotion we won't be a monority too much longer - and as the votes for motorbikes increase the govt will have to watch it's arse that it doesn't piss off the electorate!

C'mon - encourage lots of people onto bikes.
In space, no one can smell your fart.

Wasn't that meant to read "Bang for a buck - protecting a bus load of innocent schoolgirls from a single hairy biker" ?

Some interesting reading here and yes these originally started off as peaceful protest rides.

Unless we are prepared to unite, then we will never get in to the eyes and heads of those that make the rules. We are too small and splintered a minority for them to bother listening unless we show solidarity. Reality tells me that is unlikely to happen.
I hate Michael Jackson but 'the man in the mirror' song is apt, and is where it all starts.

Or should we just keep sticking our heads in the sand ?

Safeas workshops were well attended by KBers. It's easy to be cynical (I can be very cynical too), but the only way to change a culture is to stand up and be counted. (Or is the purpose of this thread to instill a bit of millitance (sp), kinda like reverse psychology.

What do you reckon our ACC levies would be without the parliament protest rides that occurred in the past ?

I resent that last comment - I am not a hairy biker - mind you when you are as folically challenged as I am it is sort of nice to be thought of as one - a hairy biker that is (not a school girl)

I agree they don't give a shit about us, BUT

    1) It is way more fun than taking the bus.

    2) Statistically it is more dangerous to change a lightbulb than ride a bike

I would love to see the stats to back up this comment .

    F/F
"Kiwi Biker, still a great place despite the mods "

"Would crawl over broken glass before owning Suzuki"

The only reason I only ride in the Iron man Class is I have no friends left to enter the two man events,
    my own fault really.
