    Motorcycle Freight Companies

Does anyone have any experience freighting bikes from the NI to the SI. I'm looking at buying a bike online and would like some recommendations from people who have done this and some guide on what it usally costs.

    Cheers

i used biketranz to get an FZR400 from invercargil to auckland. Cost $470 door to door. Took 3 days all up i think.

Just be prepared to go by his terms (timewise etc) because he's an on the job kinda guy and doesnt have time to waste.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

There are few companies that do it, and most do NI to SI - see these threads.... If you ever have a question, the search function works wonders

    Hiya mate,

I used BikeTranz to ship my kid's bike from Auckland to Christchurch. $400 door to door. Bloody good service, and even arrived a day earlier than promised.

In July I used main frieght to move a cr125 from Napier to chch , 180 dollars there in 2 days ( even though the road was supposed to be closed ,,)

I just dropped the bike off and picked it up the other end ( at the branch )

You would have to protect it or palletise it youself if its an expensive bike

Last year I used Jeffs to get my SV650s from Hamilton to ChCh-$450 from memory-no complaints with the service-bike unmarked. Had to get it from the depot-not an issue however. Chris

biketranz if you dont want any hassles with packing it.... (and if its expensive!), but otherwise i'd go cheap with mainfreight and pallet it myself...
