Help for converting videos and stuff

Hey

Last year Sam and I went on the Skyscreamer in town on Vic St... and we paid the little extra to have it recorded (its SO funny)... anyway... the CD only plays on computers with DVD players... and nothing else...

I'd like to load the video up to youtube.com so I can share it with whoever (cause I find it so funny...)

The file format of the video on the CD is: ".Vob" (or at least I'm assuming this is it... there are 2 other file types on the CD, I'm picking the .VOB one because its the largest one at 89MB... the other two extensions are: .BUP and .IFO)

Does anyone know how to change this to .mov or whatever file type Windows Media Player plays?

Cause youtube.com doesn't recognise the file format I'm trying to upload...

Seriously it's a point and shoot solution which will do the job for you without having to get into the specifics and details.

i'm bringning my laptop into work tomorrow, and the it guy is gonna help me download the right conversion program, then convert the dvd whatever and load it onto youtube... hehe

then you can all watch sam freak out...

ok... well I've got the file converted from .vob to .mpg or something... just uploading it now to youtube... its taking forever... hopefully it works...

Well done. That isn't a CD you've got, its a DVD. Different language. The files are DVD. Needs to be compressed and converted into....what? Can't remember.

yeah the program I used changed it from 89MB to 23MB... for a silly little 2 minute vid.... crazy aye...
