    Carpark Racing Korea

As a build-up to the Korea International Motorcycle Show '06 (KIMS), the organisers painted some lines in the large carpark outside the Daegu convention centre (EXCO) and invited riders to come out and blast around to promote the show.

Sunday, I took a look with some mates and discovered that the lines were very slippery, the course bumpy, and the corners small and tight - sweet!

Having sold the 125 (crashable) bike, I took to blasting around on my 600 (must-sell, can't crash) at an easy pace.
Pretty good fun until some of the guys showed up with their race bikes. Although I diced with them a little, I wasn't prepared to risk indicators, handlebars and fairings for carpark glory.
Overall, never got past 3rd gear and spent most of the time clicking between 1st and 2nd. Another guy on a CBR had set up his gearing and suspension for the short short track and was noticeably quicker.

Ah... all in all, good experience to tide me over 'till I get to a NZ trackday.

Here's a few pics and video to follow shortly...

Nice one mate, I used to do the exact same thing to practice on my 400 with my mates with little bikes. Looks a bit tight for a 600 but glad you had fun. lol

That is a great idea. They should do something similar at the big boys toys show. Bumpy circuits can be fun, as they cause heaps of tail slide if you corner with plenty of throttle. Good to see you've got a 600 now aswell.

    The video action

...here's the video action from the carpark.
Man, it looks slow but feels quick when you're in such a confined space.
