Those new-fangled BP service station/supermarket/coffee places do surprisingly good pies.

Otherwise most are just scalding-hot flaky pastry buckets of TVP and gravy. Don't expect to find any animal protein in a "mince" pie.
What he said Jimmies Pies Rock - especially the mince and cheese. (The mutton are out of this world as well) Just the thing to top up on when you are heading to Central

Coromandel pie shop mussel pies or steak and cheese (think they do a steak, egg and cheese too, yum), also love Makatu mussel pies.
(must rememeber the diet, repeat after me, "pies and donuts are yuck. Pies and donuts are yuck")

A good ol'potato top for me - either with cheese or the slice of tomato on top! I used to love making pie sandwiches, bung your fave pie between two slices of bread, extra cheese slices, bacon and an egg!

All with watties tomato sauce natch, with the steak pies I used to peel the tops off, slug it with H&P sauce and slam the top back on...mmm..mmm goodness...

I still miss Georgie pies, when they closed I was devastated As a student I would order 5 of their $1 pies and just have a whale of a time!

I miss Eagle Boys. Ohhh, that's pizza, not pie.
Immmmmmm pie! I used to do the pie sandwich too, until I caught sight of my arse in a mirror and decided that pie sandwich was off the menu..... FOREVER!! In fact, pie is usually off the menu, but I still love the TF!!

In the UK i used to work in a pie making shop, the top seller there was a kebab pie.
Unheard of over here but it was basically a kebab in a pastry pie shell.
I also used to weigh 115 kgs of ass and man boobs whilst i was there due to a diet that consisted of kebab pie butties and cream cakes.
In NZ the best pie i have tried has got to be a mince n cheese ponsonby pie.
Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
