Suzuki RG50 - The Ultimate Bucket Racer?

Here's a early '80s brochure on the RG50 Gamma advertised as a racer. Unfortunately it's all in Japanese. The brochure and a lot of other great Suzuki info and specs is from the site http://www.suzukicycles.org

Although all years are covered, only the mainstream models seem to be listed.

My bucket is an RG50. There's been a few things done to it but it's still reasonably competitive even now.

I used to own an RG-50 with an expansion chamber back in the '90s.

There used to be 5 of us who used to hoon around the Port Hills on them. We had a real ball !!

When I used to do Buckets there was a guy who put a sleeved-down DT125LC motor into one.
    It was very quick.

I say go for it !!

Yeah I know of one RG50 in a RS125 chassis which is standered bar expansion chamber which gives a FXR 150 a good lesson in riding it has a awsome rider on the RG

The RG50 is the utimate bucket standered they are so reliable
ok they not the fastest but you change the pipe and you have a nice zippy 2 stroke,
and the frame takes a RS 125 shockwith ease you just need toget a sanding well and sand back half a mill on each side of the shock linkage and in it bolts.
My RG is about to have the top end takin off it and polish the ports apapt a set of honda RS125 rear sets and lower the frame a fraction and it will be sweet.

Oh and another thing to do to the rg is take the handle bars off and put the left bar upside down on the right and the right bar upside down on the left it lowers the riding position of the bike considerably.

Im just in the process of adding some steering stops to it so the bars dont turn as far as well

It's not standard you knob. It is slower than the FXR, Yes you are right. I think we had the argument about the RS125 chassis VS FXR150 . A good lesson aye? Im pretty sure the FXR beat it last time they raced together? I think i have a video on my PC of them racing. Should it up?

Haha. I also think you put up a question about changing your rearsets before. I think you were told to stop being a Knob and dont touch what is not broken. Hmm yes lowering. Why would you do that? Oh, thats right so you can get you knee down easier. Hey, how about jsut leaning the bike a bit first aye. Getting you knee down at 20 degrees lean angle isnt cool.

What the hell is the point in doing that? So when you crash (from leaning more than 20 degrees) that instead of your handle bars just folding in, It will now hit the steering stop and snap the handle bar. Nice one.

Yeah that Jay is an awesome rider. better than all the bucket racers. But it does help that he has a Grand Prix frame. I think that i recall you going on and on about how well that handle. Hmmm. yes. I also remember you going on and on about how shit and slow that FXR150 is. Still, it seems to be able to beat him if the track is simple enough.

So what are you trying to say? You seem to contradict yourself alot.
