got picked up from work in dads cage last night....making a right turn that would cross oncoming traffic....there was an oncoming car, but a good gap that left heaps of room for us to turn safely. halfway through said turn, i take another look and blow me down, theres a bloody scooter in front of the car! had a headlight on, but the lights of the car cancelled it out...i never even saw it. luckily, it wasnt moving too fast, but still, rather scary thinking "what if" cos i could have truthfully said, i never saw you.

whether it woulda made a difference if i was on the bike or not, i dont know. i would have maybe waited for that car to go past first, but i dont know.

Well I worked at that bloody place for 2 years or so when I was at high school... damn I put on like 10kgs and never lost it (got rather attached to my big bacon...) Luckly most of the staff and managers since I left has all changed so not many people recognise me now...

[edit] - oh I noticed last weekend that the bacon cheese burgers are $2.00 now.... damn that was so strange they've been $1.05 for the last 5 years...
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........

    A) Kudos for making it in one piece and without taking the rubber off tarmac.

    B) I see two factors here:
    1. Misogynic culture that is not likely to instill confidence in young asian females.
    2. Apparently in Australia and New Zealand people not owning a people mover shouldn't be allowed to breed, because "...if you can't drive them around, you might as well put them for adoption".

The result is obvious: Young girl (especially surrounded by half a dozen ankle-biters) lacking confidence to drive + a heavy people mover = road hazard.

P.S. I can empathise with the lady. Driving a 3.5 ton truck for the first time was an adrenaline-producing experience as well.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
