Some brief footage of my first race day.

Still got so much to learn regarding lines etc but enjoyed myself nonetheless. I'll put up some on-bike footage (not from the race but still at the track) tomorrow.

(I'm the one on the lead bike in the footage)

Some on-bike footage from this Tuesday. I ran a low 1:49 on this lap, not my best time but then I do have the excuse of a slick on the front and a half worn road tyre on the back. Long story. You'll see I'm not hitting my apexes consistantly, oh well that'll come with more time at the track. If I actually moved my weight around on the bike you'd see me get my knee down, but at the moment apparently I find it easier to stay on the bike!!

Looks cool OAB. That track looks like a blast. Is it Ruapuna?

Internet is slow as fuk tonight (dial up) and it's already half past 1 so I'll down load it another day.

Isn't 1.49 a pretty damn respectable time anyway though??

What race was this? Where's the write up?? Keen to find out more!

    Yeah, it's Ruapuna.

MR, here is the write-up. I've been told anything sub 1:50 (including the dipper) is pretty quick around there, although others might dispute that! I think from memory the dipper adds about 9sec. I'm going to concentrate on going slower to go faster out there next practice, get my lines right and those times should tumble. I've already done a couple of 1:47's on the wrong lines!

    Cheers guys.

BTW, on the practice vid ALL those gear changes are clutchless, both up and down the box. Just a matter of timing 'tis all.

I think I've said it all already mate.... was a damn good day and you looked great out there!!!

Are you coming down to Levels? Might be a good idea to try another track (and its a great technical one too) and you might even get into Clubmans this time

fuck yes! considering how little time OAB has spent on that track!

Haven't seen the vids yet, but just in case you havent seen the note yet, King of Levels RD3 has been moved and is now on September 23. That means its the day before The Battle of the Buckets, so I won't be going to Levels DAMMIT! Sending you a PM shortly OAB

Edit: just saw the vids, wicked stuff.... nice boot too...

Man, I am absolutely impressed! You do all this with one arm! I bet you'd be a shoe-in at an arm wrestling contest! How much strength does it take to race a thou...???!!!!

    Great footage! (sic)
