    User names

Out of curiosity, why did you choose whatever you user name is?

I will start off, my name, the umfaan, means "young boy" in Zulu (ex South African).

    We've done this thread before.

But, FWIW, 'J. Random' is a sort of online 'Joe Bloggs'. I started using it several years ago when I couldn't think of anything better.

i have been using this nick for well over 15 years now, when i first started on bbs in auckland.

I have also used a few other nicks my other major one is farQ (nick i use on www.gixxer.com, and few other small places)

When I first went to log on to my first web addy the only thing I was sure of was I did not want my real name accessable. But on hotmail my nick name was well and truly gone, the closest suggestion had 5 digits to remember.

When I was a teenager I used to sign all my "pen pal" (boring story) letters with a cartoon of a dog. Dog, Dawg, and even bigdogonamotorbike were all taken. It suggested Bigdogonamotabike@hotmail.com. And so it began. Now Wk mates call me by my proper name, Mates call me by my nick, web mates call me big dog (now all web coms go by this nick unless I'm going undercover) and those who have met me in person all seem to know who I am at first glance, so it works I guess.

It's an allusion to his riding style.

    Mine has been discussed before.

I only run with a couple of other psuedonyms

    NaKed_BatMan
    FarQToo

Other two only used when I wish to run rampant in online games and not have my main name banned
