It's one of the "must do" things for kiwis... show up to the chamber during a debate.

God almighty - the levels of pathetic behavious would astound you. 1/2 of them are there reading papers, and ding... who knows what, but their brains are obviously not involved, and the other half are yelling at each other from opposite sides of the house like kids in highchairs.

If your average company had a single meeting like the general debate in Parliament management would sack itself.

And the ones that weren't in the debating club, but complained bitterly about not being invited in, joined the Maori party. Once someone found out that they did want to join and they were invited, they declined stating that they would never join the establishment and that it was just another way that "The Man" was trying oppress them!
