It's still dark about six innit?
Not a lot of time for fanging aye?

Although our bikes are fitted with headlights, I shall not be fanging tonight. Regretably work calls.

So, nobody up for a sedate trundle somewhere for coffee and cake then?

Don't care. Any direction suitable for the purpose of a trundle involving coffee and cake. Have to be back by 20:00 ish though (apparently). Lookin' a bit dark out east though... checks radar).

As you were, light rain south and west, should be bearable.

For anyones info.. wasnt sure where to post this...... if we actually DO head to Elles pizza/pasta shop in Carterton (Jacobees) on the 3rd Oct as our first offical Wed Night Ride here is a bit of her menu. Although elle has informed me she will be riding that night and NOT cooking.

    Pizza:
Belvedere Brie - Chicken, Berry Sauce, Caramelized Onions and Brie Cheese.
Seafood Marinara - Mussels, squid, clams, shrimps and spinach
Satay Special - Chicken, Cashews, Satay, Poached Peaches, with Sourcream and sweet chilli sauce.
Hotty - Chilli, Red Peppers Jalapeno, Marinated Olives, Chorizo and Artichokes.

Of course theres the usual Hawaiian, Meat Lovers and Pumpkin pizzas as well.

Pasta: Spinach Fettuccine, Blue Vein Cheese, Vongole, Beef Lasagne

And Rosti, garlic bread and wedges. Loads more stuff as well.

(my bikes going now, so no worries for me that I wont be on the ride)

sorry i hate putting a dampener on things, dont get me wrong though - I'm all for eating pizza

tcwnr was started as an alternative to trtnr - its point was to be 100% newbie orientated (but ppl can obviously go off and do their own thing if bored) and an alternative for those who didnt like their average speed being so high

Okay thats cool and all but whats that got to do with pizza you ask?

well, i'm not sure if other people remember their days as a newbie but i sure remember mine(probably cos they're not over yet - the trtnr crew looked after me, i have no doubt about that - you guys and girls rock!) - i remember many times when after a tcwnr i got home between 9:30 and 10 - infact it was most nights and i lived in the Hutt! i never once stopped and wondered why some people left early and never clicked that it was the people who lived in the cbd

The problem is you see is that carterton is just that little bit further (according to wises - 20.7kms and 20 minutes from featherston) make that a round trip and thats 40 minutes later i would get home - letting the newbies get home at 10:40 is not an option sorry (plus don't forget that the Learners have to do 70km/h)

SO! i suggest a couple of alternatives

    1) do it on a thursday night - meet with trtnr but go in your own groups (i doubt i will come for pizza with this idea due to prior commitments...cough...trtnr...cough...)

    2) do it on a weekend - plenty of free time on a weekend -get an early start, take the back roads there, take some different back roads back - theres is going to be plenty of beautiful blue skies hot sun and plenty of time this summer

    3) fuck tcwnr - no one is making you stay and help newbies, you're allowed to do what you want (yes we'll even let you ride with us afterwards...)

geez, i havnt ranted like that in ages but please oh please

won't someone think of the newbies?

p.s. i'm glad to see you all advancing but those of us a season ahead (or more!) had to go through the same thing last year, you are advancing but there will always be someone there with a new bike, an L plate, a dumb look on their face and bad lines to take your place! remember we were there to watch and help you - please remember our contributions and patience and try and do the same for some one new this season

Crike get this man back to work .. he needs to do something as he is thinking way too much!!!

You are right though Doug ... the cruisy Wednesday night ride is for newbies ... and there will be enough of us that it will not be lost, and besides I need to be home at a reasonable time to get my sleep or I get grumpy (ask grub!).
