Weather is meant to be fine so here's hoping to see a good turnout at the duckpond.

Here's a suggestion for tomorrow nights ride.

Depart Avalon duckpond, Over the Haywards, Southern side of Pahatanui race circuit, take the last whitby turnoff into Postgate Drive, then right into Omapere St and then right at the roundabout onto Warspite Ave.
Ride up to the new Aotea sub division and do a recce ride there (Loop).
Straight down Whitford Brown Ave and South onto the motorway.
Turn off at second (Southern-most) Porirua off-ramp and west across the overbridge, left into kenepuru drive then right into Kenepuru Hospital, through the hospital grounds (Please observe speed limits and judder bars here), emerge on the Western Raiha Street CCH entrance and head south down Raiha St.
South down Tawa Main road and turn into Glenside (Middleton road), ride through to Johnsonville then across the J'Ville motorway overbridge onto Helston road - Stewart Drive - Newlands road and then down Ngarauga gorge and back to Lower Hutt.

    Pub destination:
How about the local hangout for TRTNR riders. Above the (Ex) Grumpy Mole in Lower Hutt. Otherwise Station Villiage?
Or we could head north onto the motorway from Newlands road and head into J'Ville and stop at one of the locals there.

If we do decide on J'Ville, We could extend the Pahatanui leg by riding the Grays road side first then taking in the first part of the south side before turning right into Postgate drive.

If you don't know the locations - Don't worry, follow the leader.

OK - Can you tell me if this ride happened? If it did, what time did you set off?

I left Tawa and decided to go the reverse route. Along SH1 to Paramata, around the South side of the inlet, over Haywards. At this point I decided that I didn't want to get stuck on SH2 heading south to see the group heading North. So I stopped at the lights at the bottom of the Haywards and and and After 20 mins decided to ride to the duck pond but no one there Headed South, up the gorge, down into J'ville, along to Tawa, along Kenepuru, left into Raiha St, past the Hospital, back to Tawa and home.

It was a good night for a group ride..... by myself..
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Probably a group decision to change the route at the pond methinks.

I was late and always going to miss it so I lingered over the bbq with miss Vicki and then thought stuff it - i'll go for a berl on the tritanic anyways.. Still pretty nippy out there but nice to see the sun and not much wind. Twice over the Paekakareki Hill and around the inlet and home for a nice brany and I'm a happy camper. Life is good..

    What a bunch of pussies!

Tonight's ride was over the Takas to the Red Pub at Featherston. The sudden deluge of 20 hungry bikers had them scurrying for some extra kitchen staff. But the food and service was great! So too the ride. Yes, it was cold in that kind of August way, but there was bugger all traffic around. Extremely most excellent fun on a Wednesday after having been caged up by the weather for the past few days. I feel better now!

Yeah-good to see a decent turnout. I note with great intrest that there are also a good number of people on bigger bikes coming out too. What happened to the vast horde of 250's that ive seen on previous rides?

Hopefully I'll be back into it soon - but currently my bike is waiting to be picked up and taken to the shop for a bit of TLC

    Hmmmmm Change of Direction

I said to myself I will do the Haywards by myself outside the group but wait over the other side for the group - got down toward the inlet, stopped a few km's short and waited before the right hander outside HRS 6.45 - 7.15. No bikes coming so then up through Whitby down to J'ville looked at a few watering holes - no bikes. Up SH2 to Hutt watering hole,, nadda.

Yes - seems to happen often with TCWNR. Never rely on the forum for plans for the evening ... (I did a trip over the takas and back before catching up with the group at the Sandbar just before everyone left a couple of weeks ago)

How fast are you chappies going these days? Someone said it was getting faster and faster, not really a learner/introductory pace any more?
I will join in one day when I get a bit more skilled.

Hey Buck! I think I must have passed you on my way over. I saw a biker standing, but didn't recognise you. After I got passed, I almost turned around because I wasn't sure if you were in trouble. I got to the lights on the other side at 7.02 so would have gone passed you at about 6.55. Next time....

    You are not alone.

Me thinks there may be a shift in pace.

I am planning on a Wainui Coast and back to Eastbourne - Lifeboat Tavern one Wednesday evening.

Also Harbour and bays anti-clockwise - Brooklyn down to coast and back around Bristol on another Wednesday evening.

    And another Duckpond - city - Makara - J'ville - Porirua - Mana Sandbar.

I am happy to ride in small group of 4-5 at newbie pace.

Happy to receive PM from interested riders and on a Tuesday evening post proposed ride for Wednesday night.

    Heads Up

Nasty has gone to bed now Steam, but I'll remind her to post in the morning. We had a quiet group tonight and it was great. Gentle pace, easy cornering, lead a swept. Thanks guys it was just the right mix.

Sure the fast team were there too and they enjoyed themslves as well. We met at the top of the hill and spent a good time at the pub. An yup, it WAS cold - quite bizarre but not unpleasant
