Thanks for the offer Paul but it's not the clutch that's the problem. It's been slipping for months but only when It's under stress (above 8000 revs) so I can live with that for the month I have left on the 250.

It failed the WOF on Wed for a leaking rear strut. After the ride on Wed night, I pulled the struts off and have dropped them off at the dealers in the hope that they can do something with it. Being an 85 bike, it's hard to get parts.

Unfortunately, the WOF runs out on the 10th and the reg on the 12th. I don't reach my 6 month on the restricted until the 6th Feb so I'm just trying to get it road worthy so I have it available to take the full next month.
Worst case, I will either hire or borrow a bike for the test. I would prefer to get it available for the test so that I'm on a bike I know and am comfortable with.

I've got a Honda CB500S sitting in the garage just waiting. So come Feb, I will be able to put the CBX off the road and pull the engine apart at my leisure.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker

Harbour and Bays - Confidence Building Rides

Thank you all for your comments, I do look forward to joining you on the TWNCR on the weeks that I will not be doing the Tuesday Harbour and Bays circuits, through until March

I respect all your opinions, and trust that being an Aussie won't be held against me and your banter is much appreciated. As you will see my intention is to provide the opportunity for riders to build their riding skills and of course ultimately move on to the TWNCR etc.

For those of you that regularly attend the TWNCR and want to come on into town and join the Tuesday rides this month on 9th and 16th January I have posted the site calendar for these two dates here:

    http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/ca...2&day=2007-1-9

Caltex Kaiwharawhara 6.10pm for 6.30pm departure.

    Heads Up and Enjoy

I got to work dry this morning, but now my bike's huddled in the corner under it's shelter looking at the rain hosing down. We'll be waiting for a break in the rain before dashing home again. No TCWNR for me tonight.

The forecast is for more of what we got now. Its not too bad, could be the odd shower but nothing too serious. Will decide when I get home from wk.

As I cannot go on the ride today I won't feel too bad if you have to call it off. It had better be good weather next week though.
    Here for the ride.
