Gezzz man, YAMAHA RD... 2 stroke twin, came in 250 and 350cc IIRC the 1st of the Liquid Cooled (LC) 2 strokes, hence they were more cominly knowen as the LC rather than RD.
Any one that was a pimple faced teenager in the early eightys will remember them being reliced... 1st easy as to wheelie 250, a sound and style all of there own

I believe that the LCs are still being made in Brazil or at least they were up until very recently.

They were what was known here as the RZ (called RD in most markets)

I thought the RZ had fairings, rather than the nakedness of the RD?

This place here looks to be the definitive website: http://www.rd350lc.net on all things RD/RZ.

They talk about the faired 350 here http://www.rd350lc.net/pageFAIRING.htm and I'm sure I do remember a fully faired RD350LC but it looked nothing like those one's at the bottom of the page. Buggered if I know, looks like I'll have to surrender to old age and say that it was too long ago for me to be sure now.

In NZ the bike started as a RD... (no fairings no YPVS) then came the RZ (remained RD over seas) which came with a small fairing and belly pan.
The last of the RZ's (RD's elswere) was the RR with full fairing and proper expansion chambers.
