I managed to watch the first 50mins or so but then I turned it off. Couldn't handle Charlize looking so damn ugly. It probably is quite a good movie, but not my cup of tea.Originally Posted by Celtic_Sea_lily

Isn't it funny how the quality of a movie is inversely proportional to the amount of CGI in it.
Anyone remember dialogue?
There's a remake of the 'Lion in Winter' on TV1, Sunday night. If it's half as good as the original it'll be superb.
Why do they bother with remakes of classics - they never work.Originally Posted by Lou Girardin

I thought it started off well, with the situation developing at a pace no-one could expect, the quiet heroics by the people in the observation post, the stupity of the politicos who would rather sweep it under the rug than face facts etc.
Then, instead of where it could have gone - as someone else said, into a film about the grim reality of surviving the conditions etc - it turned into a bog standard disaster movie.
Shame, as the first half was worth watching.
As for Shrek 2 - not out here yet, but hoping to see it next week. If it is anything like the first one, it'll be brilliant.
After reading your over veiw I will definitely go see it.Originally Posted by Celtic_Sea_lily
