    MCSD Online Course

    Gday guys and gals

Just wondering if anyone here has done an MCSD or MCSE course online and how did they find it? I have been teaching myself VB.net and maintaining systems by myself at work, but Im thinking of moving up in the world and everyone wants the neat bit of paper saying Im a Microsoft Certified developer or Tech.

Could anyone shed some light on the courses? How hard are they? Are they Really worthwhile? Would I be better going to a Uni?

    Cheers

I've done the MCSE (about 10 yrs ago) and currently work as a developer / system build (mainly linux, c++). Personally I wouldnt bother with an MCSD. I reckon for the work / cost involved it wouldnt be worth it. I dont think either that employers are looking for that, more knowledge and experience. With the breadth of development environment now, you have to decide an area to go into, and maybe youve chosen .NET, c#, VB etc (which is fine), but I would just try to get on the job experience in that, learn from coworkers, and change jobs to get that experience if necessary. (Personally I prefer the linux opensource world, buts that just personal preference)

but MCSD deals with SQL and Visual Basic etc.. I attempted the MCSD years ago (when every single person had an MCSE), and got bored/annoyed with the course..

and i replied to it, due to me doing the MCSD course, it was pretty much online, except using the computers at their office, looks like they've got it fully 'from home' styles now though..
