Got bailed up by a mate on the train going home tonight.
"Simon - d'ya wanna buy a bike - one of my mates has decided to give up riding and get into cars and he wants to flick off his bike fast. The rego and warrant ran out a week or so ago and he doesn't want to pay money if he's flicking it off."
So anyway, I said I'd post it here (with no prejudices). Here's the details:
1986 Honda VT250F.
The reg/wof has just expired.
Mint condition.
18,000 kms (!)
Comes with Helmet and Gloves.
Call Justin on 021-139 055.
He's asking $900 as is, or $1050 warranted.
Tell him you got the info from Simon, who's one of Steve's mates.
I haven't personally seen the bike, so can't tell you any more about it. I just said to Steve I'd post it on here for Justin (who I've never met).
Steve's sent me a pic he took of it. Here it is:
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
"What a steal", eh? Hmmmm. MUST SELL NOW! Riiiiiight.
But then, who'd be dumb enough to nick a bike and then ask a mate to post a public 'for sale' ad with a photo of it? Right? Anyway, I'm sure the circles that celticno6 moves in are entirely devoid of such shady characters.
Damn that is a deal. I sold my one, which was exactly the same as that, the same paint etc, (apart from a dent in the tank) and I sold mine for $1500, lol. It had done 85000kms or so aswell. That is a serious good deal for a learner, they are awesome bikes.

TBH I thought it was too good to be true. I hassled Steve about it, and he said the guy was on the level.
Ring him and find out, I guess.

Hmmm. Grew up in the Hutt Valley, first rode a motorcycle at the age of 9 (if vespas count), played in hard rock bands since the age of 13, driven V8's and turbos since I could reach the pedals, got a tattoo on my arm that was done at the Highway 61 Lower Hutt HQ, still live in the Hut Valley.
Yeah you got me. Mostly harmless

After a short bidding war, the bike has now sold for $1200.
Thanks to all. Justin is very happy.

So, I don't know who bought this absolute bargain?
Which one of you was it?
And is it how it was described?
Let's have a report...

A friend of mine was in the bidding and had actually sent money, $1010 unwarranted, but was told he needed the bike as he'd crashed his car, so no sale....
