    2004 Intruder 250 Start issues

so I flicked it on this morning..started first go... idled for a little as I wheeled it out of the car port, didnt even need to use the choke.

I heard a large POP sound, not to dissimilar to if I had ridden over a bag of chips...

about 5-7 seconds later.. bike stops running.

got electrics (lights on "dash") but starter wont even click. Tried everything I could think of ( I'm a real bloody novice to be fair, having only been riding for 6 weeks) and its as dead as a dodo.

I'm thinking its a fuse, and so do a few people I have talked too.

So, question... could it be anything major.. and how hard is it for me to locate the fuse and replace it on one of these bikes?

If it was a fuse, which it could be, my concern would be what shorted out (so loudly!) to blow said fuse?

In other words, don't replace the fuse till you know what made it blow. There must be a little burn mark on whatever shorted out :/
