Has Helen Gone Too Far This Time?

I freely admit to being 'excitable' but....

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3794096a10,00.html

Has Helen gone too far with this National / Exclusive Bretheren thing? I mean, threatening to change the law to stop groups of people having their say is a bit rich coming from a person that leads a group of wealthy people that seem to have plenty to say about anything.

My gut reaction is that while I don't like the Exclisive bretheren OR Destiny Church or any other religious group interfering in politics, I'm not 100% sure that I want to see this kind of law on our books. She is trying to divert attention away from something embarassing and now she has threatened to make 2 new laws soley to favour her own party. I DON"T LIKE THAT!

Sorry helen, what ever respect i had for your leadership has turned to dust and blown away to the faint sounds of an old Nazi marching song.

The exclusive bretheren do appear to be sectarian, seperatist, fascist, fanatical lunatics though - I am personally continually amazed at the wealth accumulation and greed of those who pretend to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ - I turned my back on organised religion a couple of decades ago because of precisely the hypocrisy demonstrated by organisations like this and the Free Church in Scotland and the Destiny Church in NZ and the protestants who attack catholics and the catholics who attack protestants.

Getting back to Helen though - she's just been in Parliament too long - I think there's far too much mudslinging in parliament and not enough constructive policy building - I want my tax back until they learn to spend it properly!

Discussion, resolution then execute policy....not wank on about who decorated whose house or shoved tennis balls in kids mouths. Leave that outside the parliament for the police to handle if need be coz it ain't got relevance to the running of the country.

So - let me get this straight.

A huge capital investment by unions advertising support for Labour and advocating that we stick with Labour is okay, and does not count as election spending...

and a pledge card paid for by the Leaders fund is okay...

... but a pamphlet by a religious organising suggesting that the Labour party does not share the values of their church members is not?

Could someone please explain the process, because I'm very confused.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

"...Clark said New Zealand had reached a turning point over whether "wealthy interests" should dictate the outcome of elections....."
I'm sorry - I'll read that again..."...Clark said that only the Labour Party could outspend it's opponents to win elections..."
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Helen seems far to arrogant for her own good. Everytime her or her party is critised for doing something rather than admitting they may have made a mistake the turn round and say but the opposition did this. She acts just like a little kid would.

    - Her speeding adventure
    - Her pledge cards etc

To name a couple things that she should have been done for but hasn't. How can you make a law after doing something to make it right!! Anyone else would have been done for these.

And do you think you have any chance of winning? Hopefully you will but I won't hold my hopes up.

Look at what happened with her speeding adventure. She firstly tried to blame it on her drivers etc who got convicted but have now got the convictions lifted but they couldn't get her at all!! Wouldn't supprise me if the same thing happened here as well.

I'm glad someone remembers. I think the unions in NZ can see the end of Labour and their current activity reflects this.

The words "beyond reproach" seem a far cry from the reality.
Shameless, guileless, thats more along the right lines!

Yes, she has gone far too far. Will anyone do anything? Not likely, she has proven herself immune to being held to account.
She being the face of a more insidious evil IMHO, the lady cannot be blamed for everything, but still has much to account for.

Freedom of expression? The Hate speech act? Anti Smacking bill? Dog chipping? The general advancement of political correctness in every facet of society? Ooh, look at me, I'm now a professional, because one couldn't be just a nurse, just a carpenter, just a streetsweeper.

Flippen bollocks, but the left wing is all about empowering the minority at the cost of the masses, and disabling common sense.

Next they'll make it illegal to vote for anythign that would tempt a person to get off their arse and work, if they didn't want to.

Farce. One great big F***ed Arse.

"They" may not be able to get her but "we" can get her "out" if "we" value freedom and democracy! She is just a bloody dictator!
As for Winston keeping things "honest"... pffft, he soon swam up her arse!

She has to go, the sooner the better too but look carefully at the "alternatives" now that's a tough one! Cheers John.

Not sure about Winston, but that's what Act say. But they're politicians - can you trust any of them to be "honest"?

You're not wrong, in fact it's right up there with Politics!

Their current activity is just unions doing what unions do best - stuff things up for everyone else. Take the Progressive strike - wouldnt the strikers have been better off financially if they had just kept working? And this 3 day radiologist strike (or whoever is doing it), their workload is going to be crazy by the time they get back, never mind the poor patients.

As for burning Clark, if we lived a few centuries back, she would have been burnt at the stake as soon as she showed her face in public. How could someone with a face like that NOT be a witch?
