XV750 engine won't start

It's a bit embarrassing, the front cam sprocket was missing the sheer pin so was rotating on the cam shaft without turning it - fortunately both valves were closed so no damage, just wouldn't run. I was a bit surprised it wouldn't start with one cylinder but I guess it would be hard work pushing the other piston into a sealed hole!. Runs smooth now.
