I wouldn't go to Botany myself, but since I won't be doing it any time soon anyway my personal position is moot. That said, most of the guys are from further south than Botany too so it makes little sense to meet there since there are no rides north of there.

There are pretty much two groups leaving from the Autobahn anyway - we always seem to sort ourselves into some order of desired riding speed. And I like the fact none of us know where we're going until the last minute too... for obvious reasons...
If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!

[QUOTE=EatOrBeEaten;1900688]I have to admit, having only been here a fortnight I haven't got a clue where everybody leaves from. I was told the Botany Honda ride would be chilled out and learner-friendly, which suits my ability far better than caning it with the big boys, which is why I found DIN's post to be somewhat bewildering.[/QUOTE
The ride that start at BP autobahn (BOP petrol station just south 2 km from Papakura offramp SH1) for more than year from my knowledge , it's learner-friendly ride on every intersection riders gather and wait for rest , they wait for me 2 , you are welcome cos it is safe ride no bins and no tickets on this ride it is not race and everyone ride they own pace , where we go we decide just before ride . I don't know who told you that ride start from Botany Honda you probably talk to Richard , eider way be nice to see you and to get to know you .

He should get it sorted cos it is in same time as SATNR , if he is doing Botany Honda ride than he should live this ride alone.

Nice to see this fookah is still going strong after that fateful night when The_Dover, Maverick, Terminal Addict, Vixter and McJim set forth in the darkness doing all the twistiest roads through the Hunuas.

Shame I can't join yas but I'm doing the really far south of Auckland Thursday night runs now

But hey, what's a coupla thousand kilometres between friends!

I think Richard's slow speed is still too fast for me! It's been a long while since I've been out and about on the SATNR, I shall say I cannot come since everytime I have said I want to come I couldn't!

I could leave at BP Autobahn before Richard leaves Botany and he would probably get to Kaiaua before me!

Thanks for the (very) brisk ride guys (I was on the red hornet 900).
After I left with gijoe1313 I got a text about a pet emergency so had to book it home! I hope the crazy asian managed to patch the hose up!!

Was very happy that I could keep up with at least some of you, was nice to see riders of all experiences riding happily and safely! May become a regular (and even talk too!)

    Cheers.

    Ich bin ein idiot.

I didn't make the Botany ride after all, got caught up in traffic coming back from the city centre and then couldn't find the place.

Still, went out to Kawakawa on my tod anyway, brilliant ride that! Hopefully see some of you next Thursday night (I know where I'm going now)
has developed a love of big fours. WTF!
