Was still caging back from Tauranga at 9pm that night, bloody work.
Every day above ground is a good day!:
been doing those sort of hours for the passed couple of months, weekends too.
hard but worth it.
even with a couple of good mates passing away, its been hectic.

I was reminded recently that I should scrub up on my slow speed riding skills (or total lack thereof)
and
while travelling to work
- Emergency serve/braking - practise how the bike will react when something suddenly appears
- Don't go overtaking a stationary lane without being very careful that someone isn't going to suddenly appear thru the stationary lane
Even if you are overtaking 2 lanes this is more likely to occur, as I witnessed this week.
- Scanning ahead
- Think about possible things that might go wrong.
eg This is a nice corner someone might be tempted to cut, coming the other way.
And if its me doing the thinking, its gunna happen
- Some people just are steerers, blindly going where someone has gone before.
- Be mindful of people who maybe lost or trying to find a location, sudden turns can happen.
- On every trip there is at least one (stereotype) person who will try and beat the que, wow one car length-the stress of it.
and these where just things seen while in a cage - this week.

Yeah yeah all of that...but on the slow speed thing, some years ago I had an idea (ominous some may say) to hold a slow speed race over a distance of 200 mts. Your feet may not touch the ground and the winner is the 'last one' to complete the 200 metre straight. A lot are not that comfortable with slow speed work so the idea was a moot point before it went any further. Riding fast is one thing but being the slowest is another level of skill.
I was reasonable before, but havent ridden for a few months (and out of shape - Yes Caseye round is a shape).
I was like one of those skittles with a round base that always stood back up when knocked over, weaving and wobbling. Haha!
summer is coming, so time to practise when I can.
200m thats quite a way.
could always wait at the start till every one else has finished then go

The weather man says..... Looks Like Rain....thats good enough for me.![]()
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.
