Solo Auckland Thursday Night Ride

Make mine a Heineken
what times the ride and where are u meeting please?
Bugga! Sorry to hear that John, was coming too for once.
I'll be there tonight at the Autobahn out the front of the cafe at 6.55pm.
Trying to get some stuff done but aim to go so please don't piss off before 7.00pm. Don't want to be out after dark though. There aint no way I'm spending $100 on a visor to see better in the dark when I hardly ever go in the dark anyway.
So, I'm in for a quick one to one and half hour squirt and back home again if that's ok.
Anyone confirm?

Well I was running a little bit late today, blardy probs at BP Takanini servo and it took ages to process my card!
Anyhows, rode to Autobahn and no-one there ... I thought as much (everyone buggered off) ... and I did the ride anyhows ... through Drury/Mercer and the Hunuas and checked out the Clevedon pub in case any likely bods there...
Nup!
Hope everything is good with you oldguy, nothing too serious I hope!![]()

Twas a goody and not a solo.
Just me and Stify and he rides well
Meant to be a short loop around 27 Kauiau and back over Clevedon but got turned back on 27 cos a road closure for 4 hours, real bad accident, cars, trucks etc.
Went back to Mercer down Island Road, Findlay road etc and clocked about 190kms in the end.
Nice cop at Mercer in HP told us where and not where to go and asked us both to gun the bikes so he could hear the exhausts. I said how fast and he replied, go for it mate
So of course we did.
Ended up riding in the dark thought, not much chop with a dodgy visor. Oh, Stify managed to reduce the marsupial population by one more. Split a possy down the middle in the Orere point gorge
Good to get out for a good blast after a crap day at work.
GIJOE, must have barely missed you and crossed paths almost by the sounds of it![]()

Ahh poopers, the roads were beautiful to ride, a bit of loose stuff in the Hunuas, but nary a cager in sight and the fading light made for a great ride!
Was wondering if there were any of you riding out around ... I was thinking I must just be missing your stops and making a different turn here and there!
All good though, there was a resurgence in the SATNR!![]()

good thing nobody rang me for a thursday night ride: my bike never made it out of the shop after it's 15k service and i would have just had to make excuses
All good mate, just a bit pissed at my self, stuff all damage, gear shifter, indicator, and a small dent in the frame/tank.
but I guess its not up to me, the insurance company has the last say.
congratulations, to you and your partner/wife to be 8 years, I guess its like taking a demo bike, you have to test ride/run. I wonder if any bike shops do a 8 year demo's on bikes, would like to be sure before I buy.
unfortunately it is the Buell, doesn't look bad, but its up to the insurance people.
I'm fine,![]()
good on you mate, you may have to hold the fort for a while, don't know how long its going to take, before I'm back on the road again.
Cheers mate all is well, good to see this ride hasn't lost its solo appeal, we need alike we need a group ride.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.
