Ewe did, wash yer mouth out wiv soap, you naughty, naughty boy! decided to go south and bugger the Tagarama Auckland tag, got as far as Mercer, turned around and went for the tag at the lower Huia Dam in Titirangi, it was cold, but if we'd kept going south we were going to end up like Popsicles! Never been so cold on a bike this far north.

Yup that white stuff was around yesterday too, from glen murray to maramarua pretty much all the way......but my latest addition to the bike kept me warm enough with my summer summer gloves on

was better over the hill though

    Mate Bat Wings?
Looks bloody big, but I bet you are much more comfortable back there, nothing like a screen/wing to hide behind on a bad day.

I did a loop through the north Waikato in the afternoon. The roads were mostly dry and clean, but it was cool! Time to dig out the winter riding gear.

Didn't see many bikes - looks like the Harleys have gone into hibernation.

Last nights run was the same as the other week.
apart from no idiots on my side of road, no small trucks with hi beam only(well 1x), no fog, no rain.

just a few possums playing dead on the road and 1 who tried to take on the bike, his head clipped the underside of my bootit was a big one in the middle of the road.

Otherwise it saw a general improvement in this riders ability.

for those old enough to remember I just past a mark 2 zephyr with a rather large V8.....

it wasn’t cold either for those couch surfers out there.......either.

several sets of “road works” and lane changing signs etc but nothing happening.

bike handled the gravel much better than expected.

watch out on those rural roads for farmers vehicles which leave vast tracts of mud for us to slide on, esp corners.

and a few areas of road metal that have washed across the road during the recent rain.

couple of places have large depressions, and it was interesting watching the front wheel suspension extend 3-4 inches suddenly while lying over midcorner.

130 ks total togged up, so didn’t feel the cold.

I dragged my bike out but had a customer come in with an issue after 5 so that kept me busy for a while & just ran out of day to fuel up and get ready (was on reserve.... well into it)

Fair enough. I know how things go in your type of work.

lets see what the couch surfer has to say.

anyway you probably would have been bored......

I had even removed the screen to see how it went with the bigger fork deflectors I fitted Saturday as I might run with no or a very low screen...tried a bigger alloy screen Sunday too, was good but I was after a bit more breeze... getting close to cutting a permanent one

This might sound silly but you could stick on some ribbons to see the air flow etc.
i liked the cowling you put on, looks good.

i tried various positions of the adjustable screen last night and have settled for 2 stops before the maximum deflection.

i would like to decrease the helmet wind noise in my ears further though.
its like the wind is getting into the helmet. I might add padding where the speakers would normally fit as a trial.

i am off for a while, back next week

Last night was a repeat and rinse of the previous couple of weeks.

It wasn't cold or chilly, quite still but low light levels.

    Lot less vehicles as well.

Will probably just do it again next week without starting at the usual place.

If weather is same will try and continue down south further, as I am getting used to the country riding.
