    Phillip Island GP Results *SPOILER*

    Melandri 1st
    Vermeulen 2nd
    Rossi 3rd...

    BUT

Roski is being accused of passing Stoner (who finished 6th) under a yellow flag...what will happen if that is found to be the case? Will Rossi be put back in to 7th or disqualified?

I believe it is a 10 second penalty (iirc), that would drop him back to 6th.

I thought it was for him lapping pedrosa on the last lap under a yellow?

Anyways, what a massive race. That was definately the most entertaining race I've seen in bike racing ever. Awesome start with nakano opening out a decent lead (think 4.7 seconds before the rain) and then everyone coming into change bikes and head back out on the wets. Was more surprised that there was only 2 crashes. Thought there would have been some carnage. Good stuff for vermeulen getting up on the podium too. Hopefully there's better things coming for that man next year.

Yeah talk about it, that shot is going to be shown alot of times. Still buzzing after such an awesome race. Also the 250's were great too, think lorenzo won by 0.009 seconds.

Who cares where that whiney little bitch finished so long as he loses the championship who cares.

Interesting little note: After Leguna Rossi was 51 points down with six rounds to go. He's now 21 points down with three to go. So he's pulled back 30 points in three rounds with three to go. Oh yeah he's going to do it and there nothing Hayden can do.

    Bring on Japan.

Stewards examine Rossi move at Phillip Island
PHILLIP ISLAND, Australia, Sept 17 (Reuters) - Stewards are looking into a complaint that world champion Valentino Rossi overtook a rival at the Australian MotoGP Grand Prix while the yellow flags were out.
World championship leader Nicky Hayden was reported as saying Rossi overtook Australian Casey Stoner on lap 18 while yellow flags were being waved following Carlos Checa's detour into the trackside gravel trap.
Rossi finished third in the race, a result that would see him close the gap on American Hayden to 21 points if the protest is rejected.

feel sorry for Nakano. what a start that boy made.. but he should be strong here in Japan..

All in all was a great race..

Good to see from andys post nothing to come from the American pulling another excuse out of the bag, and Rossi once again ensures his jinx on Giby holds true !

Excellent that the Doctor keeps his 3rd place. That overtaking and taking Gibernau for 3rd was wicked,...but Melandri's smoking the rear tyre was simply awesome.
I borrowed my work's projector so I had a 150" TV to watch it on....can't complain about that !!

I've been telling my sons (who both seem to be favouring Hayden) that the Doctor's not done with yet.

Good to see Vermuelem on the podium, but the rain rules are going to get a bit of getting used to. Seemed to work ok, but timing your bike swap is crucial.
