    exactly!
2 or 3 laps to warm 'em up good & proper doesn't leave you with many hot laps...

i'd hate to see people rushing the 'warm up' laps & crapping off just to squeeze in a quicker lap or two

Well done the kiwi rider crew... Was a bit mumble grumble about having to move out of the pits (OSH plan my arse) and about the day ending at 3:30 with near on an hour lunch, but when I adjusted my expectation differential for the money paid, damn good value, and the track was great.
Learnt heaps, had a bit of a yak to Craig Sheriffs...

All good fun, and looking forward to the GSXR day (good weather please!)

Isn't OSH wonderful! We also have to have a safety plan in place (insurance and public liability requirement) as it's the first thing the authorities will ask for in the event of a serious incident. Keeping the pit lane clear of all vehicles, apart from the ambulance and our recovery vehicle, is stated in our safety plan. Thanks for moving, it was appreciated.

Lunch was meant to be 30 minutes but ended up being 45 minutes. Suzuki had asked if Stroud and Shiriffs could put on a little demo for you all at lunchtime and we ran over time a little. Plus our team of professional marshalls had been in that hot sun since 9.30am with no shade and needed a bit of a rest.

It's a shame that the track, pits and paddock is still a building site (and will continue to be for a while yet I reckon) as it limits the facilites available to us.

We believe that the day offered great value for money and the 10th December day more so; $30 for a track day ain't bad value. Our youngest rider on Saturday was 16 and the oldest was 80.

See you in December, not sure if I can do anything about the weather though.

    Cheers
    Chris

Still not quite convinced, as the race days will also have to have such plans in place, the pit lane itself still does stay clear, only the concrete pad is populated.

All an OSH site safety plan requires is that thought is given where due. Construction industry/osh veteran hence my unconvincedness.

Maybe investigate how Vic club do theirs, as they seem to be the most on top of things at race days.

Still, well done in any event... I did enjoy myself immensely, and all in all it was well done and smoothly run. Will be a very nice facility at taupo when it is completed finally!

Can you change me into the fast group for the GSXR track day... When I signed up ages ago, I was way slower. Now I don't seem to have that problem

PS, where were the fast journos?? All on leave that day or something?? LOL

Safety plan was put together and implemented by us, maybe it was too strict, but safety first. We may change this for the next day. OSH concerns regarding the construction site were Grumpy's (track manager) and he told me in no uncertain terms on the Saturday morning that nobody was to go near the building site. I took him at his word and decided that it would be easier to keep everyone away.

Race days are very different, more staff, different safety concerns, etc etc. But thanks for the comments, it all helps for future events and at the end of the day, out goal is to make sure you have a good day. I've moved you to the fast group, see you in December.

Where were the fast journo's? Hmm, I never put a helmet on all day...!

Are we supposed to receive any info/paperwork for this, or do we just truck on up on the day if we've paid?

You are supposed to receive details. They are normally sent out as we receive entries so it would seem that we have either missed you out or they have gone astray in the post. E-mail me and I'll send them back by return.
