    Hi from another newbie... (Jaxi)

    Hi Everyone,

I registered on here a while ago now, but am just getting around to introducing myself!

So, Hi... Great site, I've been glued to the PC all afternoon as some of the threads are hilarious and sooo long!! Loads of laughs, and some useful info in there too!

My fave site is www.horizonsunlimited.com, really helpful for adventure biking and is no doubt mentioned somewhere else on this site!

I'm a kiwi in London (one of the thousands!) but hope to be back in Wellington by the end of '07. Looking forward to getting out on some decent rides as it's a bloody nightmare here, congestion or motorways!!! There are some awesome rides in the UK though, just not around London!

I've attached a pic that I took in Cambodia. The pigs squealed when the bike went over bumps and I think the bag of rice was there to balance the load.

    Cheers

    Cool

    Jaxi - Welcome to KB...

Took a look at the picture..

Damn it must have hurt the 2 pigs back's everytime the rider went over bumps...
and there poor wee tails getting tangled up in the spokes....
Im glad there was a full chain guard on.
I guess they were off to the slaughter house after that ride..

Oh well the rider was wearing a helmet... but I see he belongs to the exclusive 'Jandel' club.

    Thanks for the Warm Welcome!

    Hi Guys,

Well, thanks for the warm welcome! Damn jealous of you all just heading into summer while we're heading out of it! Can't complain though as it's been a great one over here this year.

No, the pigs certainly aren't being transported in the most conventional manner and although it's probably a slightly controvercial picture, in so many other countries, you just do what you have to do! At least they carry the cute little piglets in big round baskets on the back of the bikes!

I'm afraid all the way from Turkey to Indonesia jandals are not uncommon footwear for bike riding. Not often you see helmets being worn either!

I could bore you with bike photos till the cows come home!

Here's another one of the road from Sihanoukville in Cambodia up to the Thai border, 160km's of car corrugations.... Hubby's self portrait while waiting for me to catch up!

So you're a kiwi living in London then?

What part of Willesden Green are you in?

I met my wife when I was living in Willesden Green - moved there by accident didn't know London from a bar of soap at the time - couldn't believe all the Aussies and Kiwis and Saffa's kicking around - good bunch of peeps. Then I met the missus - 5 years later started a family and moved out here.

    Willesden Green?

    Gidday McJim,

Nope, we're in sunny Peckham, a very un-kiwi /aussie area of London, they're starting to filter out this way though.

We've tried to leave London for good twice now but always end up back in the Sarf East. It's good, only a 30 minute ride out to Brands!
