You know you can't donate blood for 10 years after having homosexual sex...

Fact: No gayman is allowed to donate blood EVER.
Reason: cos of HIV/AIDs. (yet not many gay men are infected)
This goes back to the 1980's when the first outbreak started.
The law over this needs to change.

Yet men who have anal sex with women are allowed to give blood.

There are more straight women who are becoming HIV positive than gay men.

If you lived in the UK within certain years you cant donate blood cos of 'mad cow's' outbreak.

If you have had cancer and fully recovered you cant donate blood.

Hep C carriers (not sure about Hep A and B) cant donate blood

So there is strict criteria's in being able to give blood in NZ.
