    Howdy Adventurers (mattsdakar)

Being reading the site for a while now, thought I'd introduce myself.
Got into bikes 7years ago while doing my big OE in London ended up Motorcycle couriering. Great way to see the country and what a blast, basically an 8hour points race everyday!
Now back in Christchurch with family etc riding a 2001 BMW F650 Dakar after having previously owning Sportsbikes then Honda Dominator and Yamaha Tenere, both were great adventure bikes but the Dakar is "da Bomb", great adventure bike and surprisingly quick on the road.
Last week meet up with another KB'er, "Plug" at Have a go trackday at Ruapuna Speedway, we ride identical bikes so look forward to catching up again for some adventure riding.
The trackday was fantastic, I recommend, had a great time taking on the sportsbikes, managed to hold a majority of them off on the twistys but was a spectator on the main straight!
Look forward to reading about other adventure riders trips and catching up with other riders in the Canterbury area.

    Regards Matt

    Respect...

    Hey Matt,

You were a bike courier in London?? That would have been a hell of an experience! They are nutters!

I cycle to and from work (Peckham to Holborn) and have noticed, after a couple of years away, that there are so many more couriers out there now, bike and pedal. Same goes for commuters. It's becoming a survival of the fittest on the streets of London!

However, if Londoners had the same logic as the Indians.....

Enjoy those South Island roads, you'll get anywhere on the Dakar!

    Cheers
    Jax

Welcome to KB Matt. Live on our roads will be a little tame after London's. Have a mate who was in the same business as you when he was in London a few years back, he was a courier for 6-8years. Shit you boys sure learn how to drink while there.
Like Plug said keep an eye for meetings & rides.

Welcome aboard. No doubt I'll see you on a ride sometime, lots of places to play round here.

Welcome to KB mattsdakar. We may cross paths somewhere in the South someday.

Watch out for that Plug fella, he's addicted to "Gravel"!

    Always tripping out on it!

There are quite a few venture bikers in Christchurch area!

There is a great group of KiwiBikers there too, so have fun. Cheers John.

    Howdy Matt.

Welcome to the site. Was in London at the beginning of the year and was amazed at how many bikes there are. Couldnt walk down the street without bumping into people whilst looking at them.

Feel free to check out this ride for 23 or 24 Sep.

Hopefully will have a couple of the Chch adventure riders. Nothing that a Dakar cant handle going by what Plug gets up to on other rides.

    Cheers
