'I'm not that smart,' Paris tells police
Paris Hilton told police investigating a robbery that she's "not that smart" in an interview to air on television.
The House of Wax actress referred to her poor intelligence levels while being questioned by detectives investigating the robbery of Girls Gone Wild producer Joe Francis in his own home.
During a recorded interview about what happened - which is due to air on US news programme Dateline on Saturday - Paris confessed: "Like I really... I don't remember. I'm not, like, that smart. I, like, forget stuff all the time."
Police were questioning the heiress-turned-actress to see if she remembered what she told Joe at a party shortly after he was targeted on January 24, 2004.
Paris went on to tell detectives how "private tapes" were among the items that were stolen and that a "mystery caller" wanted cash not to release them.
She explained: "They wanted money. They were trying to sell it to like a newspaper or something.
"If you pay somebody, then you're gonna be paying for the rest of your life. My dad always taught me that. They'll keep the tape anyway."
Darnell Riley later pleaded guilty to the offence and was sentenced to more than 10 years in prison.
