Photoshop - removing shine/glare

OK so i got some alright night photos the other night. But due to the camera having to have a the shutter open to catch the city in the distance the shine on from a streetlight on my bike is OTT. Can any one tell me how to get rid of it or atleast minimise it via Photoshop. I know its not going to be 100% but i'd like to make it look better.

The attached image is scaled down to 640x480, the original is 2048x(whatever)

Start by adjusting your levels and pulling the highlights down, then adjust curves by manipulating the line.

I would also recomeded making a selection over just the bike and the waugh so the city in the back drop.

And because you haven't white balanced the camera you can adjust the colour balance from the adjustments menu in ps too - max out the blue and cyan and it'll look much better before you even start dicking around with the levels.

move the bike to a darker location. Under a street light isn't the best spot for long exposures. And yeah, set your white balance, then in PS do the levels then curves IMO.. And do subtle changes too, not drastic, unless you're going for an arty farty look.. If you want, I'll be doing some night shots of my bike soon, got a few ideas I want to try. Can come along and see if you want..

back this mornin..

btw, with the levels, go thru each colour (R-G-B) and move the little left and right triangles to the edges of where the spikes start (you'll see), then move the centre one to get the best result..
givin away too many secrets here..

well maxing out the cyan and blue helped a lot with getting rid of the orange glow overall, still not having much luck toning down the shinyness of the view parts on the bike though.
