Haha! Well, we're all ok. Just a wrong turn on grumpy and yungatart's behalf. Good fun was had by most, despite the misshap, as far as I know. Maybe next week, people should all know where we're going BEFORE going anywhere.

Wise words from the yungun! Grumpy and I went down Middle Rd, as per the instructions from Mstrs - he neglected to tell us to get on to Middle Rd at Pakipaki... and so the fun began!! I got home about 5 mins after Mstrs and hXc.
Thanks people for waiting for us, looking for us and especially to Grumpy for sticking with me
We had a great ride, saw Wasp27, hXc etc heading up Te Aute Rd, we went down Otane Rd, again as per instructions...
    What a larf!!
    Same ride next week????

"Calling car 54. Where are you??"
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Exactly! I just followed you....not our fault if the directions aren't specific, eh?Lesson learned - take my cell ph next time, and get CLEAR directions before we leave BP

In many directions - seperately, it would appear, silly man!
The destination was the road, you, hXc and Mstrs did the other day. Original plan was ...
HW2, turn off at whateveritis Rd, do that, come off on HW 50 at Maraekakaho and head home. MSTRS changed the plan to Middle Rd, via Pakipaki, Te Aute Trust Rd, HW2, Whateveritis Rd, HW 50, then home....got it? Then neglected to tell all of us his new plan and so the fun begins....

Grumpy and I only got half the story, did Middle Rd (from Havelock Nth), Otane Rd, HW 2 as per instructions, got too cold so headed home
Mstrs and G4E did extra miles looking for us,as they thought we were lost, broken down or worse... not even, mate, we just followed instructions, but were wondering all the while where the f*** everyone else was
finally met up with Mstrs and hXc back at home ... so much for a nice family outing

Oh well, it was a nice ride and no harm was done (to me, anyway, although I'm sure that my dearly beloved's blood pressure was pretty high by the time I got home)
We could do it all again next week, just so you don't feel left out

So you don't stick together in a group then Yungatart? Heck you should ride with Ulysses then I always found them a bit like that never much of a common bond everyone doing their own thing and not completing rides together. I said I thought you'd be a Ulyssian and now I know you are young enough to be only a junior member.
    Cheers

I don't think I'll be joining Ulysses any time soon..
Our group rides have always been group rides before, it was just a temporary glitch
We'll ride together again next Wed, wanna come and join us?

We try to....but some people let themselves drop back out of sight & then take the wrong access road to Middle Rd......
I did the ride on my own in reverse direction just in case the two lost riders got the cover instruction the wrong way round. Strange, but I never caught up to them

I used to do a lot of group riding with a club I was in a while ago and these hicups would happen from time to time until we found a way around it.

Basically, if you knew you weren't the last in the group and you had lost sight of the headlight behind you, you stopped when reaching the next turn and waited until you were sure the next rider along was aware of the next direction. Generally if everyone did this there was never anyone left behind with no idea of the route. It also meant that you didn't have to have the whole group stopped at an intersection. The ride flowed nicely and everybody would get to their destination and the slower riders wouldn't feel like they were holding the whole group up.

That's kind of what happened here. We got to the next intersection with no idea on where everyone had gone. Have to admit though it was a bloody nice ride but I can imagine the worry for those looking for us. Sorry about that guys. I hope it didn't stuff your ride up too much. Maybe next time I go tail end charlie I'll take more notice of the instructions instead of

Yep that's how it is suppose to work. however make sure you only glance from time to time cos I find it hard to concentrate when looking in the mirror a lot. Not so bad at slow speed but when it gets up there it turns to custard fast.
Also the second rider stops at the intersection and waves the rest along. Then picks up the tail and follows.
I didn't mind the blatt back to look for you Mark
