I've just rung Xtra and got my plan changed over to "Go Large" but I don't know if its taken effect yet even though the guy said it should.

The scores above look the same as my old 3.5mbps plan but I'll try again later on.

I'm currently on the 5g Explorer deal with xtra, but already gone over my limit, since 16 Oct.....Not sure what the best deal is to be honest, currently paying $49.95 per mth.

OK, just swapped to the Go Large deal, same price.

We're with ihug, on an $80 plan, which is the second to bestest they offer. If we stay on $80, it will be their fastest plan under the new scheme, with 7.6 download, 800k upload, and a 20Gb cap. But (however/also/as well) we'll have to sign up with a phone plan which will be $10 a month more than now.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

If we go 'all ihug' then we'll be paying ihug the ~$40/month instead, but we have to also pick a plan, such as "Talk1", which is $15/month for cheap off-peak toll calls, or "Talk0" which is unlimited calls to a nominated vodafone mobile for $10 a month.
It's the "Talkx" plan that costs the extra. As we're not big on talking on the phone (our average landline to mobile plus national tolls is around $15/month), we'll end up paying a few bux more a month for the privilege of giving Telecon the finger. And getting more fatness on our ADSL.
    ... and that's what I think.

You can get the same plan from Orcon with toll for $60 (max/max and ZeroShock) and you don't have to have the silly ihug calling plan thing

OK I've been cutover to the new plan now. One way you can confirm is that your IP will change from 22x.x.x.x to the 125.x.x.x range.

    A quick test shows:

Download Speed: 3849 kbps (481.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 129 kbps (16.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

Some improvement at least. Better than I ever had on my old plan and given its peak time now too.

On my new Orcon max/max with Zeroshock for $60 a month:

Download Speed: 4491 kbps (561.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 605 kbps (75.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

Very nice indeed... especially when using with bittorrent due to the high upload speed....

Why is it so low on the upload if its max/max?
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

that's because it's ADSL, the uplink has less bandwidth than downlink to speed up downloads. read:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADSL

600kbps of uplink is actually fairly good for a ADSL connection.
