Give them maps. (Eddie will photocopy them?)
Last one in each group waits at turnoffs for the following rider/s.
Appoint a 'sweep' who knows where to go.

Don't agonise over it. You can only do what you can do.
Talk to Lynita - there is a RAT handbook that might offer some advice?

Labrat got more than 20 to the same destination on Sunday by the above.

Easy one, tell everyone that the last one to arrive has to pay for the beer and the first one has to pay for the food.
That way it will remain a nice tight group till you get there!
Ofcorse the last 200 meters will be flat out followed by 1/2 an hour getting off the bike, sorting gear ect till someone has to go to the loo. Then its another race to the door once hes/shes inside.
    See, easy!
    Himmm, Triumph eh.
Put the oldest one in front, no one will go to fast caus of all the oil on the road!
We all have our little obsessions...

What year are you living in? Hinckley Triumphs are made in one of the most modern factories going. They are every bit as tight and reliable as anything Japanese.

    Cool

Get a map and highlight where you want to go...
Photocopy that map and give it to all riders.

    Get everyones cell phone number.

Designate one person to lead the group.

Designate one person to be 'Tail End Charley'

Make sure everyone knows where the main turn off's are and the second person waits at the corner to direct the slower riders. That person heads off as the TEC arrives.

Work out a place for everyone to have a break for a cuppa etc... Cafe.

But just have fun and enjoy the ride.

    Piece of piss.....

Most capable, experienced solo rider on a fast bike is leader.... He/she gets a red vest.

Most experienced clever clogs practical nice dude is sweep... He/she gets a green vest.

Mr Red vest and Mr Green vest know the route. (really know the route)

    Rules!

No one (and I mean NO ONE) is allowed to pass Mr Red vest and no one is passed by Mr Green vest.

At every junction, the rider closest to Mr Red vest (ie second in line) pulls over and directs the rest of the group around the bend and can only take off again when they can see the sweep (Mr Green vest)

They can then ride like a mad cunt until they catch up again and have to stop because they become second in line again.

As long as Mr Red vest (the leader) always maintains contact with some person behind them and second in line always pulls over to direct the rest of the group you can't get lost and every one can ride as fast / slow as they like!

    Cheers

I trust you it's a good system, but If you knew these blokes you would appreciate just how funny it would be.

That struck a nerve, didn't it?
    You're right though.
Look how well the dead stock Daytona 650 did against the Jap 600's at the 300 km race.
Some of our members even have the exquisite taste to buy them.

yeah - i'm over the oil leak shit - that was last century. WT pm'd me a suitable dis too.
Can only speak for my bikes, but I never got 120,000km out of any of the jap bikes I owned like I have out of the Tbird.

Trophy isn't that reliable, but it's very hotted up. It's just like my XS11's and GS's that I did the same things to - and it breaks things occasionally.
Otherwise its biggest problems have been the Japanese carburettors and forks.

Yeah - been there done that except Mr red vest was a very well known international road racer type and no one had a shit show of getting past...

I've met some of your rugged induhviduals... They don't really like people with old Triumphs or Moto Guzzis do they? Odd lot! Hey - some people just don't want to ride in a group or be organised so I'm left wondering why the daft question in the first place? Just tell them 'I'm going to waipukarurumaki for lunch, it's a free country, either join me there of piss off some other place...' Works for guzzi folks...
