Tutoring offered 30th Sep '06 *Limited to 3!*

Tutoring offered during 30th Sep 2006, Track day at Pukekohe

    Hey everyone,

For anyone who doesn't know me, my name is Sudeep Giri. I have raced in Formula 1 (Superbikes) and Formula 2 (600cc Sports Production) in 2004 and 2005. I have been riding bikes for a while now and have done many trackdays and race days around the North Island including the infamous Paeroa Battle of the Streets race in 2004 in F2 class. Around Pukekohe My laptime is good for 1.03 on my 600.

Why am I mentioning all this? Well, I am currently a full time student and my current funds are running extremely low. At the same time I am training myself for the Wanganui Cemetery street race for this December. I haven't been on the track for a while now as I am not able to afford to do track days at the moment.

Therefore, I am offering to help any Kiwibikers with their riding at Pukekohe Park Race way in exchange for your help in my expenses for the day. In the beginning I was very timid with tutoring other riders, however after a well known fast road rider from KB asked for my help, my mind changed.. After much hesitation I accepted his offer and after the day had gone by, even I was surprised with how much I knew! At the end of the day he was very satisfied and happy with the confidence he had gained. At every Taupo trackday I have lent a hand in tutoring fellow Kiwibikers. After going through training days myself, which were run by real pros like Freddie Merkel, Tony Rees, Shaun Harris, I have taken notes on how to help others as well.

    Who does this apply to?

This applies to any road rider who wants to become more confident with their own riding and gain some tips to become safer and more compitent as a rider. This doesn't just apply to the track but it also applies to your everyday riding as well. I am confident that even if you are doing reasonable times like 1.08-1.10 on a late mordern sportsbike (eg GSXR600K4, 2004 CBR600) I can still help you loose seconds off your time on the day!

I only want to concentrate on a maximum of 2-3 people as I feel this is a good number to work with. Even in proper training days, most of the tutors maybe riding gods but due to the great number in riders needed to pay for using the whole track, people don't get enough time with the tutors. I feel that with this size, I can easily plan the day myself and the training will be much more personalised. Meaning I will be able to spend more time on your problem areas.

What will happen on the day?

    - We will be going on a normal Pukekohe trackday, sharing the track with other people. This is how we can have low number of people while keeping the cost down.
    - I will hand out notes on suspension set up and general riding information.
    - 1st session - I will analyse your riding.
    - 2nd session - I will work with you and show you where to make improvements.
    - 3rd session - I will reanalyse your riding and show you some proper race lines through the track.
    - 4th session - Any further questions will be answered and advanced riding techniques will be demonstrated.

How much will it cost you?

It will cost $100 ea for a group of 3 or $150 ea for a group of 2. This will only just cover the cost for my tires, fuel and entry fee for the day. This way, I will be able to get some track time atleast before December.

    When is it?

It is on this Saturday the 30th of September, 2006!

At the end of it all, if you are not happy with the end result and look me in the eye and say you've gotten nothing positive out of the day, I will give you your money back! I am not bullshitting, because I never do.

Please PM only, for any serious enquireis for further details.

**Date updated to the 30th September, 2006!**

Thanks man, I've changed it to the 9th. I was thinking of doing it on the 15th but I realised it's a Friday.

So far I've got one request for a private session on the road and one person who is keen to be 1 of the 3 for this Sat.

So I still need 2 more people!

It's quite unreal that people aren't taking me up on this..

Heck when I was just starting up, I wish racers had put up these offers. It would have saved me so much time and money!

I'm not trying to be a sales man here but what you'll learn in 1 day with me, would probably take 3 or 4 trackdays on your own if you are good. If you aren't naturally talented, then it could take longer. If you add up the cost for entry fee, fuel and tires for 3 - 4 trackdays, it easily adds up to more than $1000! To get there quicker in less than 1/4 the time at 1/10th the price surely has to be a oppertunity not to be missed!

Think of it as an investment to your personal safety when you ride your bike and an investment to your own ability as a rider to get more out of your motorcycle to further enjoy doing what you love.

    I need 2 more people!

P.S. Thanks for the positive coments through the rep pts.

Actually, although not now, one day i'd take that offer. Seriously. It's time you teach this old dog some new tricks.

Will you be doing this again in the near future? I'd be keen once my new bike has arrived.

Wayback before the liter crew came about, you were one of the originals that I used to look up to as a rider. It'll be weird for sure after so many years to show you around the track. I'd be honered.

Well if no one PMs for this Saturday by tomorrow, I guess I will change it to the 30th man.

Like the KB T shirt thing. When number reaches 3 at anytime, it's all go for the next track time. Makes sence.

Hey man, i am so keen to do something like this!

Again i am sad like everyone else who seems to have excuses. I was wanting to replace the front discs before i get into any decent riding as they are badly warped and unsafe for high speed braking.

In the future sometime i would definately take up the offer though.
