Arrow Lost: Rego Number Plate 29/9/06

Somewhere in my travels tonight I lost my rego number plate...

Once I had discovered it was gone, I retraced my steps....
so I ended up going up and down the motorway a few times from west Auckland back up to the port turnoff to Auckland Hospital....

No luck at all... not even on all the side streets that I travelled as well..

I got home and rung the police to report it missing.
But I had to get all my riding gear back on and go and fill in all the forms down at the police station.

So now I carry a little piece of paper till I go and get a new one...

I loved my old rego number plate as it was like a personalised one yet not...
(think of the springbok tor and the year the shit happened)

So if you ever spot it out there, please let me know as I would like it back to hang up... it is slightly munted and it has a 5mm white plastic (the size of the number plate) attached to it and it has black duct tape holding it all together.
It also has the virago number plate holder bracket with it as well.

So keep a look out for it... thanks.

its like $14 for a new plate from the AA or a rego centre. My mate lost his last week and went straight away to get it replaced.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Im just not sure where Im going to hang the number plate now..
It may have to hang off where I have the rego and WOF stickers (grab bar)
as I have two huge holes where it used to go.

    $8.80 for a new plate.

Talk about paperwork that had to be done to get the new one.

I went to the Testing station where they do new plates.
Filled in a form and then they did a whole pile more.

I even had to ask about having my rego and WOF sticker updated to the new number, as she was about to send me on my way...
I thought hang on I need everything to be in order in case I ever get stopped or go throu a breath test check.
Well she did the rego sticker and said thats it all done.
I said um my WOF sticker?
    Nah thats ok she reckoned..
I said and if I get stopped...
Oh when does it run out... so she checked.. November Oh ok
so more paper work and I had to sign it...

So now I have on my bike the new rego plate, new rego and WOF stickers.

The Rego plate aint under the red light as there aint no where to attach it..
the bottom of the guard is totally stuffed cos of the two huge holes after the the plate was taken off.
So I have to get that sorted out. But in the meantime I do have the rego plate attached to my bike. (electric ties/cable ties)

But at least it is on my bike and visiable.

had a look this arvo, no plates anywhere.

Ended up in Mt Eden m-cycles. My 12 year old is going to try to talk Mrs P into a Griso tonight, though I don't fancy her (my?) chances.

That was cheap, how much for the replacement personalised plate?

Personalised plates are around the $400 to $500 these days.
