Out for a quick spin yesterday with Blairos mainly to test the Bike to Bike intercom that I have been mucking around with. And, shock horror, we went south of the Bombays. Rode down SH1 to Meremere, hung a left towards Tahuna and just followed our noses down all of the backroads ending up in Maramarua. Great riding on some challenging stretches. Stopped for a coffee at a small place on the main drag (SH 2) called the 'Pink Pig'. Now you know that you are south of the Bombays when you can buy filter coffee and Latte and flat/long/Espresso whatever milkys have not even entered into their vocabulary yet (thank god). The refill is also free. Big ups to the Maori chicks running the place as they also know lots about bikes. Coffeed up and enjoying bike to bike chat, we headed back to the other side via Ararimu and bombay..
