Trouble is old chap, YOU may use such items to defend yourself, others would use the same items to intimidate, main and rob innocents, therein lies the paradox....

    Hear hear

That comment has just given me such a laugh and it is so right on the button.

The only people worried about them are the ones it's likely to be used on!!!!

If your not the kind of person to do anything wrong you have nothing to worry about.

If your going to go round threatening people and being a riight co*K you deserve every volt comming your way.

A big Thank you to Marty at typeface for sponsoring me to have a go in my first race

Thanks to Steven at kittyosheas for building the computer program we're using at the sprints and the Hill Climb.

Given the unhumane cruelty of typical punishment for assaulting a police officer (those stagecoach tickets are really heavy when wet) I'd say the police should carry both non-lethal and lethal weapons.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule
