in the north island my vote goes to awakino gorge for smooth flowing road or mangamokos (sp?) up in northland for a tight road. Havent been down south island on a bike so cant qualify.

springs junction to murchison (highway 65) and as cowboyz mentioned above, the awakino gorge is a ripper too - i like the faster flowing stuff better than the tight twisties generally....i also liked highway 4 between eight mile and taumarunui...

I'd say a point of veiw shunned by most motorcyclists. We want twisty, torturous conditions - not engineering excellence.
