Today over the Rimutaka Hill and practised: confidence on accelerating after the apex. A wonderful sunny and believe it or not, no wind day over the top.
Heads Up and Enjoy

Acceleration on a Ginny is unbelievable aint it??......![]()
Just kidding Buck, what you did today is commendable so, good onya mate..![]()
Sounds like a good day down your way.
Took the CX500 for a toodle over the Pahiatua track turned left half way through some nice winding roads to scuff in the replacement front tyre just fitted. Of course only the best, a Cheng Shing Hi Max, will do. Hang a right, dropped the grand daughters things off than back onto the "track" left towards balance over the Balance bridge, right to Woodville. A glass of coke and a natter to Murry at the Boots and Braces.
Up over the "Saddle" then a meander though some choice Manawatu backroads.
Fucken windy sould have gone on the GB in the morning.
Adapted my riding style to suit the shoddy squared off back tyre which get replaced in a month or so.Also reminded that I must do something about silencing the two into one a bit so as to be a bit more stealthy
.
Was tail gunner charlie for our 250 ride out Southside, helped out a fellow biker to restore his ride back to riding condition and escorted him home to make sure everything was Tickety-boo.
Enjoyed the days ride from Botany to Whitford to Kaiaua to Hunuas to Clevedon to Takanini to Mangere Bridge.
No good deed goes unpunished and ended up working in olds shop until now! Can't wait until the next group ride!

Had an awesome time blasting around the rapa with some fast gentlemen. Bloody good to ride with Taz and Gunnar for (sort of) first time. Over the watertower road, Masterton, Gladstone pub (Deano got us lost again!) and back home. Bit breezy on the hill on the way back. Nevermind.

Just a quick ride on Auckland-Hamilton motorway. Practiced not being caught by cops for riding over 70kph and not getting creamed at the same time.
Ahhh the weather... Gorgeous! Especially at 100kph.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule

Strategy Practised: restraint![]()
I practised picking my bike up and learned that one should never throw away old metal bathroom towel rail pipe.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
From Nelson over takaka hill and back.
Strategy practised- passing slow campervans at high speed.
..oh, forgot. I practised restraint, and riding at my own pace (+ a bit).

I went for a ride to top of Rimutakas mid afternoon. Oddest thing I have seen for a while was some bloke arrived on a TL wearing a kilt - yes, nothing else ie bare knees etc. I made sure to avert my eyes away when he was ready to dismount in case I was going to see something that I would never be able to un-see. I thought he was just wearing the kilt as a joke however his riding mate seemed to take exception when I commented: "now I have seen everything" and replied rather cuttingly that I looked just as funny in my suit (my full on mid-life crisis Ducati leathers). I remarked back "that may be the case but I would rather be wearing my suit than the kilt if I was to crash" - his reply was that "you just don't crash". At that point I could see no point in continuing the conversation given that the kilted one was riding an obviously well crashed TL - go figure! Has anybody else made the kilt sighting?
Lesson learned/strategy to be practised in Future: never talk to strangers.
