Thread: Don't DO that to me!

    Don't DO that to me!

So our adopted mother cat and her 3 kittens are doing very well, she has got her condition back, and the young ones are thriving. There have been no more oop's since the second night,we can forgive her that one.She is spending short bits of time away from them....yesterday while I was fiddling around with my bike she was lying on the grass next to me soaking up the sun.

Last night at 11.30 she went for a 10 minute walk outside, and came back in before the kittens missed her,she really knows how long she can leave them. Then I gave her a last bit of positive reinforcment before I went to bed at midnight. At 3.00am she was in the bedroom,so we went back to the kittens, she had a snack and drink, poked her head out the door....then jumped in and woke up her babies for a feed.I've been checking up on her that time every night,so maybe she wanted me to keep to that routine.

This morning I see her in the hall sitting outside the spare bedroom/office.She follows me as I head to the door to put my boots on to head off for work.I look in the box and her kittens are gone!!!!! AAAARGH! She must of shifted them, they do that...so I race around the house and can't find them,I look in wardrobes, under beds, behind chairs....gone,the kittens are gone! Maybe she ate them, animals in the wild can eat their young, but they have to be very stressed out to do that....we aren't that bad to live with are we? But she looks unconcerned, even a bit smug.....cold hearted baby killer?

I leave for work a little worried, and my wife rings 20 minutes later (yes, that was me in the Pajero drifting across 2 lanes with a phone jammed in my ear) She has found the kittens under the spare bed.I looked there,in a panic and didn't see them. But it is single bed with double bedding, she had made a nest in the folds. So now her box has clean bedding and is back where it's supposed to be....we'll have to keep an eye on her now.

If I'm like this with kittens, how am I going to be in a month when we have a human baby in the house?

    A touch unnerving isn't it?

I'm the same when our dog has pups, forever checking if they're ok, finding the one thats got lost in the wardrobe, being squashed in the corner or not getting enough milk.

Thank god it only lasts about 6 weeks...

Humans hang around a lot longer I've noticed (21 year old female and 18 year old male free to a good home...anyone?)

If you are going to move new addition make sure you tell it's mother...they get cranky when they can't find their young
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

I dont think you'll have to worry about the human hiding its baby from you.... or eating it for that matter.... that said humans should be easier

We may of sorted out disposing of kittens in house - both daughters want one. We'll keep one for company for the mother, and my elder daughter wants one,she already has a young cat,a runt she saved from the last litter she fostered....but she wants one from this mother as she has put in time with her too.My other daughter wants the last one - her dog was brought up with cats,he loves them.....but no cats want to play with him! He's kinda puzzled when they keep running away from him when he wants to play.Duh,he's German Sheperd/Blue Heeler.A kitten should bond with him and he'll have a little play mate again.I just hope it doesn't end in tragety.

one time my friend bought these really nice comfy slippers and she was showing me, and i said "wow yeah they look nice", anyways the time i got felix fixed he changed and seemed to be pissed off, anyways i got home one day and my friend says "Oi one of your bloody cats pissed in my slipper, i think it was felix cause he's pissed off cause you got his balls chopped off, and he's looking for someone to blame!!!" mwahahahalol

Since my vasectomy I've been pissing in my wife's coffee. My biggest worry is that if she finds out she might not want me to stop.
