Welcome aboard the site Sphinx. There is quite a few new riders in the wgtn area so you shouldnt have a problem gettin someone to ride with at your level. But you better get a bike first - have you taken any for a test ride?

Do you know anyone with a bike you can learn on?
Suggest you go and see the guys at the bikes shops and see if they will let you try out the demonstration bikes.

Best thing to do is start out with a $$ in mind and go from there.

A good ole GN250, humble as it is, has started a lot of folks off on the right footing. If you are a little taller, a 200 / 250 trail bike is a good choice as resale value is always good on them.

Look for learner rides and don't be scared of fronting up to general rides. If you are unsure, one of the responsible people on here (you will have to figure out who is and who is NOT yourself) would usually be only too happy to help you get started. The WIMA have a go days were always fun.

Look after yourself and don't get carried away by the hype.

    Have fun!!
