The GN has been pretty consistent at 25km / L for the past few weeks.

Aside from this week when I broke the clutch cable and had to ride in 2nd gear to Haldane's.

Gave it a thrashing for making me push it through the intersections.

Dunno how many K's my Volty will do on a litre as I've just started riding and only put gas in it a couple of times, but I'm guessing it'll be pretty much the same as a GN.

On a side note, what petrol do you guys think i should use? I'm running 91 at the moment but I've read a few people's posts saying that 96 gets them further than 91. Is this right, and will it go alright in a Volty or should I stick with 91?

    Cheers.

Im getting around 350km to 14ltrs so about 25km/ltr on the GT250R, this is a mix of open road, wellington city (72km return) commute and rimutaka hill climb (thrashing it), so bloody happy with the fuel consumption. Oh and im weighing in at around 125kg so its got to work bloody hard to move.

Was amazed at warlocks results but after thinking about it hes bang on probally, very good on the petrol is the GT250R.

I did 250km on 14.5 litres - which works out to be 335km off the full 19.5 litre tank.

Works out at 17.2km per litre or 5.8 litres per 100km. (My commodore will do about 9 on a good day on open roads).

I was really surprised at just how far I could get that bike given it is a V-twin and very heavy (345kgs wet + my 95kgs).

I wonder if my maths is wrong!!

$8 gets me about 200km which I think is pretty bloody good

TOo bad I've got such short ratios and the bike is doing 7k rpm @ 100km.. Just out of curiousity what is everyone else doing rpm wise at 100km?
Been, seen and going next year.

I found a fuel leak so that explains the rediculous 13km/lt I was getting.
I just have to get it back on the road now to see how much it really uses.
yeah, don't crash before exams, it means you have no time to fix your bike =(

I have 2 hyosung GT250R's. We went from Upper Hutt to Takaka (in the South Island) the other weekend. We gassed up in Takaka and rode home
(330 kms zactly) I pillioned my missus (Im 110 kgs'naked and she bout 75)and my boy rode the other. He used 9.8L ($16)(33Km/L) and I used 11L ($18).(30Km/L carrying a passenger).

The trip worth it just for the takaka hill! You gotta do it!

My trusty 88 SR two fiddy does about 20Km/L, doesnt seem to matter if im hammering it or not, same fuel consumption, bloody weird that.

What pisses me off though is being stuck on this bloody licence restriction and hearing that big bikes have the same fuel economy

I heard a few people laugh when asked how economical their big bike is (as if to say "whats economy??"). Very interesting to see so many saying the opposite.

ps: also surprising to see the Hyosung's with such good fuel usage, interesting.

To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
