Quiet Ride, The bays to Akaroa

I know that it very short notice.

As SDU has tomorrow off work for a change we are going for a ride around the Bays and to Akaroa and back of course.
This is because the weather looks dodgy going to the coast to meet friends.

It will not be a speed run as SDU is still getting use to piloting the big beast around the hills, (is getting faster all the time) so anyone on smaller bikes or are still unsure in the hills will enjoy this as the pace will be sub light.
Faster people that want to come are of course welcome, but you will have longer breaks to let us to catch up.
Or we will wave and pass you as you give your kind donation to the Government. I hear that they need money for something.

So we think meeting at the Mac Donald's at East Gate (Linwood Ave and Buckleys Rd) at about 10-ish.

Please drop us a line so we know to wait for any one or we will just head out with out stopping to wait at the Macas.
Feel the fear and do it anyway

Yeah we were going to try and make Reefton (as well) to visit a mate.
And it would of been unfair to gate crash his place with a stack of strangers.
But the weather report did not look that good so that's why we changed the plan and did a ride around the Bays etc and thought that it would good to get a group together for the ride.
Unfortunately it was at short notice.

A Classic/vintage club was having a big ride as there were lots of old bikes every where of all shapes and sizes (bikes and riders) to the point we got sore arms from waving at the friendly lot.

Met a few old mates on the road and met some interesting people that know the same people as we do, small world it is, I can tell you.
Met a couple of blokes that are getting back in to bikes on a Griso and "X" cop "K" model BMW.

We did 200+k's and apart from the wind gust's it was a good day for a ride.
And Oh yeah there was a Fair at the Red Cliff School and it was snail pace to get out of the Red Cliff and Summner area.
All and all a good day for a ride and by leaving a bit earlier we got a good run at the hills and that made it more fun for SDU and she is getting more confident and it will not be long and she will scraping the pegs.

    Ditto that!
It'll be 3 weeks before I get another weekend off but I'm always open to a short ride between shifts on a Sunday, or the beginning of the week.

Have a good one next weekend.

PS when are you gonna get D to get you a second ph line as it is always busy.
