As you can summise he didn't take my cherished mac computer as I am still posting. To bring this back on topic, he didn't take my bike, CAUSE I AIN'T GOT ONE YET
    Have you phoned the police???

Phoned 111 (as the burglar was only leaving the scene) call answered in about 4 seconds. Senior Sergeant arrives on scene not long after. Area patrols carried out by other units, including I'm told the area controller (an inspector) who was in the area. Follow up by a constable who takes all details. Neighbours canvassed. SOCO (Scene of crime officers) on the way to take fingerprints. All in all, an impressive response, if I say so myself.

Too right, that is an impressive callout!
There are a lot of stories from the public to the contrary, but if all burglaries are handled in such a swift manner then public perceptions will improve dramatically.

We might even see the death of the "Cop bashing thread" as we know it.

    Cool

    welcome to KB.

I would surmise that when you rung 111 that you also mentioned that you are a ex-cop.... hence all the manpower to your residence....within minutes.

Cos If we got burgled etc the cops say they will be there in 3 days time... just like a MP I know, he was told the police would be there in 3 days after he got burgled.

Mind you, I mustn't complain about the police, it did take then over 5 weeks to come and take a statement from me re my accident... and 8 months to send me a final report on the said accident...
Cos they are very busy people the police...... chasing people and solving murders.

How about doing a quick search and look up BuckBuckNo1's threads.
He has a very good thread going on how he taught himself and all what he did in his practice days on the bike until he ventured out further...
Now he is joining in on a few get togethers with the Wellington crew.

PSP, bike, toys, that's a good mid-life crisis material alright. We won't ask about the binoculars and camcorder though.

Welcome aboard. As per earlier comments watch those drivers - paranoia is immaterial, they are out to get you.

I had that one coming! Haven't used the PSP in about 8 months, nor the binoculars, but was using the camcorder to transfer heaps of digital tape to my Mac. Yep, there's some serious mid life crisis going on here. Anyone wanna swap a bike for a PSP and binoculars? Binoculars + Camcorder, now there's a thought!

I hope they didn't try and fingerprint your crown jewels, it's an easy trick to fall for with those senior orificers.

Ahhh another rebel alliance member not seduced by the dark side, salutations again to a fellow Mac Rebel! Sorry to hear ya got burgled, seems not too long ago that Leong (fellow kber) was done too

Wonder if burglars are trolling here? Ah well, good on ya for the little gadgets and gear (I think the more the merrier!) Nice to hear you've still got a sense of humor about the whole thing Just remember when you get your new ride to secure it safely! (I'm so paranoid when I park my bike in Dorkland Central ... or just about anywhere else I can't see it! )

You mean there's one all on it's own? Sure it's not just a cut'n'paste from every thread??
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
