"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to TA again"
The point of my question was to imply that you yourself aren't a stunter, and therefore to suggest that being able to pop a wheelie has nothing to do with being able to ride fast. Of course, if you think ZeroIndex is right, by all means contradict me. It just seems to me that if being able to hold a balance point was really that helpful to improving your lines, they'd teach it at track schools and the like.
dude ... we're just taking the piss .. .and zeroindex is winding you up![]()
Hope you save all th confiscated booze for wens nite,Just in case its raining
People keep seeming to think I'm getting uptight just because I don't use graphical smileys or something O.o But my point still stands: I don't think that being able to pop a wheelie is a skill which directly affects your ability to ride better in general. Or, more pertinently, practicing riding will improve your riding a lot more than practicing wheelies. If I'm being serious about this, it's only because ZeroIndex seemed quite serious when he said this to Flux:
Since Flux is not an experienced rider and is still figuring things out, it seems like this is really unconstructive advice, since it's basically BS. The first thing a new rider should be doing is not trying to learn how to wheelie. Maybe Rob was just trying to wind the guy up, but it didn't seem like it to me, and I don't like to see dodgy advice being given to someone who might not know better. If that makes me a humorless plonker, at least I'm a humorless plonker who might have helped someone not drop their new bike doing pointless stunts. If you had taken up that offer, your lines might've improved, due to the extra balance skills you acquire while balancing the bike on one wheel... You should learn how to do wheelies as soon as you get your next bike...
