Great westie ride today guys, thanks to everyone who turned up for making it such a big occassion. Myself, Antallica and RIB had been riding since we left andrews before lunch, and managed to join up with a huge stream of bikes just before we made it to KK's place. So, u-turn and join the procession.....Great timing by us, to get there only seconds after everyone left KK's....

Then after getting well separated at the Gt. Nth Rd./Glenvale Rd lights, the last few of us head on up. Get to the roundabout with Te Atatu Rd and RIB decides he's gonna come back again as he's not sure of route. so we all (Ant, Hoon, Shade and myself) follow him. Then we do a u-turn again and head in the right direction. While waiting to turn we pick up wonko, luckily for him. Hoon (?) leads us up to lincoln rd and onto the motorway and we all rejoin at shell westgate, where I steal the chance for a loo stop, having not been off the bike for a while....

Milky Eric and myself somehow end up last out of shell - dont know where frosty went, as I didnt think he passed us :S. Anyway, we get into Old Nth Rd, wait a little and on-one else shows up after us. So I end up leading milky and eric as I know the route... Set a good pace and we catch up to the next group a bit, before losing them again at intersections. So it is a nice ride until we all stop again halfway up. Have a wee chat and then I take off a bit after the fast guys and before the last group.

On my own, so no pressure, and I loved it! Caught up to a Brutale and GP500Z and a integra, and followed them up to wellsford although the brutale was a bit slower and the GP500 and integra had too high a top speed for me :S Grabbed a bite to eat at wellsford and settled in to a slower ride back.

Again, I was tail end charlie except for frosty and milky. had a good legal speed ride back to kowcop.... 110 all the way, preferably through all the corners too ..... After the stop at Kowcop, I took off just behind the fast guys to see how quick they went... too high a top speed for my poor little beemer, so I stuck to 110 and ended up leading a group at that speed. Frosty flew past me a few times to show the way to all us non-locals... Good wee blat back down old north road, and then back home. Went via KK's but no-one home, so gassed up again after doing a solid day's riding and here I am

    Definitely a happy chappie...

    Great ride KK....

And nobody binned the entire weekend (I think).... hooray
Queiro voya todo Europa con mi moto.... pero no tengo suficiente tiempo o dinero.....

Superb effort and organizational skill KK.

Caught up with the group at KK's and quickly headed out. Great cooperation between all involved. Fast, slow, young and old.

Good pace, well directed and even warnings about potential road hazards. First ride in about two months so was going slow but was fun. Arrived home happy but a little cold. Guess I need some winter gloves.

Didn't mind skipping the usual lunch/coffee break. Just good old riding. :-)

Looking forward to the next one. So many riders I've never meet before, wow has this group grown!

Great ride from my point of view too.. no real pressure where I was to push myself beyond my ability, just a relaxed pace, which definietly suited after the BBQ and early morning wakeup... Unfortunately coming back I missed the turnoff to point? peak? rd just after cowcop - damn maori being so hard to spell :@ So it was a lonely ride all the way down boring SH16 for me
