    New sports production tyre rule

In the mailer MNZ sent out today, I see two rears will be allowed for safety reasons in SP,
"1 front and 2 rear tyres if determined by the rider as being necessary"

I think most top riders will deem it as being necessary regardless of tyre condition!!!

And I think that may still change to, 2 fronts 2 rears at riders choice

Yeah I saw that too. My only thought was "just another $2000 to race nationals now".

What about the thought that you have good tyres, so will not probally write off a 20K package?

    Too many tires.

I think this rule sux cause it just adds cost to a weekends racing (let alone the entery fee hike (I don't have to worry about the lack of prize money)).
It favours the tricked out big budget bikes to blow their tyres every race. Lower powered bikes whose tyres can stand a couple of races have lost any advantage.
    Just my veiw.

    True.
But for me having fun is what it is all about! Spending lots more money to keep up (ie not get lapped) kind of takes away some of that enjoyment.
I am old and slow, and I love racing, maybe I need to try one of those chook chasers! Cheers
