OK in order to even things up, everyone should turn up with as much bristle as they can build up between now and then. I suppose for some a back-hair comb over could be accepted![]()
How many are intending on coming up from Dunners on Saturday. I am considering heading Chch-Dunners on Friday to catch up with my big sis and then navigating to Otemawhatsit on Saturday. I am thinking the main road is good rather than the more scenic options.
I have just found out that they have removed the word gullible from the dictionary
Hmmm, planning on heading up via SH8 and riding with Ruralman, meeting Jantar etc.
If you were keen you could ride down to south of Milton where SH8 starts (about 50km) and meet me there for the ride up?
It's the best of both worlds - good road, good scenery![]()

If the day is right then the trip up SH8 is just magic - Milton to Lawrence is good, the ride from there to Alex is good, the ride over the Lindis is great....
I plan to come home the other way to minimize hangover riding time.
We plan to meet up in Lawrence about 10-10:30am on Sat
Just to keep this thread alive I thought I'd let you know I talked to the manager again on Friday and everythings all go for the shearers quarters (not that there was any doubt).
Hopefully it will be a lot warmer and without these awful godamn winds that everywhere seems to be getting at the moment.
What winds are these? (Hasn't been any windier than normal here) :spudwhat:
Well down here it was Hurricane City Arizona (to paraphrase The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin).
Some of the gust coming out of cuttings were strong enough to blow my visor open while I was doing about 100kph.![]()
Yes, I do wear the full-face when the weather suggests it might be more comfortable than the pudding-bowl-and-skull-mask combo.
Murphys Law though - TODAY is nice and sunny and calm..dang!

I'll come I think.
Am coming down West Coast to Arrowtown -ferry 4/12/06. I guess if I do 3 days down to Arrowtown, do Milford Sound on Friday and then come over.
Only issue is I'm saying goodbye to family before heading overseas but should make it.
With my 250, a tent and a bottle of whiskey what more can a man need?
