    Doing a Dover

    Right!

    I'm selling my drums.

Sometimes things change in life and you have to do stuff, so here goes.

Fantastic opportunity to own a top level kit.

Drum Workshop (DW) Collector Series in Emerald Burst with gold lugs:

    Toms:
    10"x12"
    12"x14"
    14"x16"

Beautiful rich tone. Currently fitted with Remo Renaissance heads.

    Bass Drum:

    18"x20" Cannon.

This drum is unique in that it has no hardware other than tuning lugs attached. Drum sits on a D'Amico bass drum riser, allowing you to set the drum up so that your bass drum beater strikes dead centre.

This drum has the original DW heads and can whisper quietly or thunder as required.

    Snare Drum:

Pacific Drums (DW's beginner and Intermediate kits) Wood Hoop 5 1/2"x14" Snare drum.

If you like "woody" snare drums then you'll love this one. Warmth, sustain, and the "pop" characteristic of a wood snare abounds.

The Snare drum stand has had the protective rubber claws replaced to fit the extra wide wood hoops into the snare stand basket.

    Hardware:

Pearl Hi-Hat stand. This is a robust stand with swivelling legs and easily adjustable footboard tension. Just reach down and turn the knurled knob to get the pedal feel perfect.

3 x DW boom cymbal stands
    1x Double tom stand
    1x Single tom adapter.

Bag of tension rods and a spare tom memory lock.

Drum Shell pack cost $10,000 3 years ago.

Looking to get $5500. Will discuss price with KB members.

    Now with TradeMe!

    This is truly sad, Jim.
BUT - if you have to sell, then PLEASE don't sell yourself short on the price.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

He's selling his kit not the skills he's learnt over these many long years...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

But aren't green drums unlucky? Like....you don't think someone who had a green drum kit might crash their bike or anything do you?..??

Exactly. Time to get one with a nice kind of white finish I reckon. One that's a bit more "Bonzo".

Hmmm. that Gretsch kit looks mint.

I would have thought Drum Workshop stuff was higher quality than the Gretsch though.

Please tell me you're not giving it away completely? We still haven't had that jam yet...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Depends what level of Gretsch kit you're buying. Gretsch have been around a lot longer than DW and their top end stuff is probably more sought after than the DW stuff.

Giving it away? I haven't done "it" for 3 years now. Have to fix the bathroom up and buy bunks.

Life? Don't talk to me about life.

There's one edition of that kit in NZ.

    http://www.rockshop.co.nz/04/start.php

    It's $17k.

All the toms are the same size.

    Keith Moon was mental.

The Gretsch I'm looking at has a 16"x26" Bass Drum. Even Keef never had a Bass Drum that big.
